The City of Walsenburg, Colorado, and Synergy Sports commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker to provide a swimming pool assessment and feasibility study for the Walsenburg Water Park, a seasonal outdoor aquatic facility with a multi-purpose recreational pool. The Water Park had not been in use since the summer of 2019, and the audit focused on items required to bring the facility back up to operating condition.
The audit looked at the swimming pools, children’s play feature, waterslide towers, pool deck, and the swimming pool's mechanical equipment. Recommendations and associated costs were provided to assist the city in budgeting for short-term, mid-term and long-term repairs.
