In May 2019, Homewood residents celebrated the grand opening of the new Patriot Park Pool. The new pool is part of a $30 million project to renovate and expand Patriot Park and West Homewood Park. Patriot Park received a new pool with a concession building and West Homewood Park's received upgrades, including ballfields and an athletic building.
The sprayground, which has a plant theme, is a popular attraction among families and children in which they can splash among spraying flowers, cat tails, and wetland animals such as frogs, leaves and vines. The colorful, whimsical sprayground consists of 15 durable interactive water features which have an on/off sensors where kids can activate the sprays, thus keeping them busy for hours as they zip around the colorful hands-on water play equipment. State-of-the-art water treatment and filtration systems ensure safe water play in addition to sustainable water use for the aquatic features.
