Counsilman-Hunsaker was engaged by the Arapahoe Parks and Recreation District (APRD) to assess the Lookout Pool Facility. The objective was to identify aging, deficient, or non-compliant elements with the Colorado Pool Code across three bodies of water: a 9-lane lap pool, a waterslide plunge pool, and a wading pool. The resulting facility audit provided insights into the condition of the pools but also extended to the mechanical systems.
The audit presented recommendations and opinions on probable repair and/or replacement costs. After the audit, Counsilman-Hunsaker collaborated with the staff to address current pool deficiencies and establish preferred pool concepts for development. Renderings depicting 2D plan-view representations of renovation and replacement options were finalized and shared with APRD. These renderings and cost estimations will serve as essential tools for APRD in discussions with stakeholders regarding the prospective pool project.
