In August 2022, Counsilman-Hunsaker assessed the competition pools at Henry Ford II High School and Eisenhower High School. Both pools are “T-shaped” six-lane, 25-yard competition pools with 1-meter diving identical to one another and approximately 50 years old. The competition equipment is deteriorating and not up to date with current competitive standards, including the starting blocks, diving boards, and timing systems. At Henry Ford II HS, there are active leaks at the stainless-steel gutter, deteriorated sealant, and deterioration at a pool structural column within the basement. Following the assessment, Counsilman-Hunsaker and Integrated Design Solutions provided design documents for the last phase of the school district’s bond referendum.
