The new Arlington Ridge Center opened in 2020 empowering many to start the year out right with a wellness resolution. The $17 million renovation and expansion of the former Olympic Indoor Swim Center features a new 100,000 sq. ft. recreation center which includes a 30 ft. by 50 ft. therapy pool, double-gymnasium, a second-floor indoor walking track, a fitness area, and multi-purpose rooms. Plus, a new 6,800 sq. ft. outdoor playground with synthetic turf provides a variety of climbing options for young children.
The existing indoor swim facility received a facelift, including added stairs to the lap pool, replacing the pool filter system, replacing the boiler, and installing a new dehumidification system.
The pools and walls were also painted while the slides received a new gel coat, new LED lighting was installed, and the party and locker rooms were enhanced for an additional $1 million in renovations. The renovation was a result of a 2017 park needs assessment and is the largest project in the history of the Park District.
