In June 2018, Ai3 Architects and B.M.C. Durfee High School commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker to perform an audit of the existing Karen Jarabek Pool. Counsilman-Hunsaker inspected the existing six lane, 25-yard pool and natatorium and provided a comprehensive report outlining the findings. It was determined the existing pool was in disrepair and needed to be replaced along with a renovation or replacement of the existing high school.
The new B.M.C. Durfee High School located in the City of Fall River; Massachusetts replaced the previous school that had been in use since 1978. As part of Fall River Public Schools, it is the city's primary public high school. Completed in the fall of 2020, the $263 million project consisted of the new high school, the renovation of the Luke Urban Field House, and the retention of the Nagle Auditorium. The original high school was demolished and replaced with a multi-purpose athletics field.
