VIEW ALL PROJECTS

The Spires Senior Living Community is a 400,000 sq. ft. continuing care retirement community (CCRC) for those ages 55 and up. It is the first CCRC in northwest Georgia and one of the first built on a college campus in the country. Situated on 48 acres, The Spires offers assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation care.

Uniquely situated on the Berry College campus, it provides both residents and students with incredible opportunities and connections. The vision for the Spires was a dream and vision from the board of trustees at Berry College, inspired by founder Martha Berry. Martha’s vision was to create a strong educational community where students could work to pay their way through school, making a college degree accessible to everyone.

Project Amenities

Through the Gates Scholars program, students can work and learn about the ins-and-outs of the industry, with opportunities in finance, nursing, hospitality, and more, all while on their college campus. Martha created a legacy with her 28,000 acres of land, and the board of trustees felt as though a Senior Living Community would be the perfect addition to their community.

In addition to the many activities offered to the residents, The Spires has a wide variety of amenities and activities for the residents to enjoy, including an indoor saltwater swimming pool, a theater, a fitness room, an arts studio, a beauty salon and spa, and activities such as bocce ball and corn hole.

The project was so successful in achieving its goals, it won top honors in the CCRC/Life Plan Community category of the 2020 Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards.
