The City of Charlotte, North Carolina was looking to redevelop the former Eastland Mall site into a community amenity. Counsilman-Hunsaker was retained by a private group of citizens that are proposing a year-round indoor aquatic center on the site.
Counsilman-Hunsaker put together a market opportunity report that consisted of research of similar aquatic facilities, analyzed aquatic facility operational data, communication with numerous governing bodies of aquatic sports in the United States and provided input on a preferred aquatic design program in order to assist with the proposal for an aquatic center on the Eastland Mall site.
