The City of Jefferson, Iowa operates the Greene County Recreation Center located within the city. Currently the recreation center consists of a gymnasium, fitness area and community rooms. The city received a grant to explore the feasibility of adding indoor aquatics to the community center.
The City contracted with OPN Architects and Counsilman-Hunsaker to determine the construction and operational implications for a future indoor pool. Several conceptual options were developed that included both one and two pool layouts with areas for fitness swimming, swimming lessons, water fitness classes and recreational opportunities.
