The High Point School, operated by the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, aims to provide excellent service to students with disabilities who have significant needs throughout the county. The impressive 130,000 square foot facility features new construction around the original campus, leading to an engaging environment perfectly fitting for its young occupants. In addition to the High Point School’s students with disabilities, the pool also serves students from the Honey Creek Community School and Gretchen’s House, an after-school provider.
The plan of action aimed to renovate the swimming pool and natatorium in the remaining 12,000 square feet of the building instead of being replaced. This was because Counsilman-Hunsaker’s assessment of the original design identified items that were substandard, not up to date, and systems that were not operating as designed.
