As part of the City’s Prop K program, the Lincoln Park Pool celebrated its grand reopening in June 2019. After being closed for nearly 10 years, the existing facility was demolished and replaced with a new swimming pool, a children's splash pad, a 7,300 sq. ft. decorative pool deck, a 4,300 sq. ft. bathhouse, and a 1,200 sq. ft. equipment and chemical building, landscaping and irrigation, pool perimeter fencing, and shade structures.
A modern sloping metal canopy covers the new building, tying the program components into a single building entity that takes inspiration from the original Eastlake Park Conservatories, which were built in the 1920’s and functioned as nurseries for the City before their conversion and alteration in 1952 to the existing recreation center.
With a simple, modern design that incorporates attractive, durable, and maintenance-free materials, the new aquatic facility was planned to revitalize a blighted, but much needed, recreational community facility that will pay homage to an important historic past.
Aquatic programming includes adult and children’s swim lessons, aquatic sports, water polo, swimming, diving and artistic swimming, lap swimming, and water aerobics.
