In 2009, the City of Tulsa commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker to audit their portfolio of five existing swimming pools, including indoor support spaces. The report assisted in identifying items that were substandard, including items that were not to current department of health requirements or not operating as designed. In addition, an opinion of probable cost for recommended repairs and replacements was provided to bring the pools up to current department of health requirements. The construction costs reflected pool repairs in which the pool shapes and size remained the same. The report was based on staff interviews, information provided by the city, and onsite visual inspections of the five City of Tulsa outdoor aquatic facilities. Pleased with the findings from the report, the city decided to proceed with a capital improvements package to replace the swimming pools at McClure, Reed and Lacy parks.
