Counsilman-Hunsaker was retained by the City of Desoto to prepare a facility audit and conceptual plans for renovating and/or replacing Moseley Pool. Counsilman-Hunsaker met with the facility staff and provided a sub-standard-conditions report for Moseley Pool. The report included an opinion of probable construction costs to address conditions identified. The report also included three future options for consideration consisting of two renovation options and a third option that adds a new body of water to expand recreational offerings. Each option was also presented with an opinion of project cost.
As a follow-up to the audit conducted in 2019, the City of DeSoto retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to prepare a revenue and expense analysis for the three conceptual plans presented during the audit. The analysis included two renovation plans and a third plan that includes a new body of water to expand recreational offerings. At the end of the study, the city chose to move forward with the third option and $6.5 million in funding
