Counsilman-Hunsaker was contracted by Progressive Commercial Aquatics to conduct an assessment on both the outdoor competition pool and an outdoor children’s/leisure pool at Murphy Park.
The existing facility was seeing significant differential settlement and heave in the deck areas around the pool. One side of each pool was significantly lower than the other. Counsilman-Hunsaker contracted The Core Group to supplement our facility audit with a structural assessment of the facility.
Together with The Core Group, it was recommended Murphy Park conduct a complete removal and replacement of the pools.
Some additional comments in the report included recommendation of upgrading mechanical/filtration to include a UV system for the features as required by ISPSC 2021 and improvements to deck accessibility around the children’s pool.
