In 2016, Counsilman-Hunsaker and Crafton Tull developed an Operational Business Plan for a new aquatic center. The goal of the operational study was to develop an expense budget, identify revenue opportunities, and provide knowledge and insight on aquatic operations to recapture operating expenses.
The grand opening of the city’s first public pool in more than 40 years took place in June 2019. The 35,500 sq. ft. aquatics center was paid for by the 2011 "Penny for Progress" tax. It features a lap pool with eight lap lanes, a leisure pool, whirlpool spa, seating for 125 people, a party room, 100 parking spaces, dressing rooms, and showers.
