Springfield, City of (Audits)

Counsilman-Hunsaker was hired by the Springfield, IL Park District to conduct facility, operational, and business plan audits of three aquatic facilities: Nelson Center Pool, Veteran’s Memorial Pool, and the Eisenhower Aquatic Center. The facilities were evaluated for deficiencies related to current code standards, and detailed cost estimates were developed along with recommendations for remediating those deficiencies and defined a course of action regarding the future of each facility. Counsilman-Hunsaker also conducted an operational assessment by reviewing annual revenues, expenses, program offerings, rental agreements, and cost recovery rates. Recommendations were developed to help increase overall revenue to help the facilities become more financially sustainable.
