United Airlines invested $32 million in expanding its existing training space at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It is the airline's largest in-flight training center. The 56,000 sq. ft. facility trains flight attendants to serve passengers safely and efficiently. The facility is a testament to United's commitment to safety and employee investment.
The United Airlines Training Center's state-of-the-art aquatic center features a 2,400-square-foot pool holding 120,000 gallons of water. It has a mock fuselage, which allows flight attendants to practice evacuating a plane in the event of a water landing. Brand new classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including interactive whiteboards and projectors, and additional cabin and door trainers allow flight attendants to practice emergency procedures, such as evacuating a plane.
Additonally the training facility includes a 400+ seat lecture hall for training sessions and presentations, a simulator lab to train flight attendants on how to operate the aircraft's emergency equipment, and a number of other amenities, such as a cafeteria, a fitness center, and a library.
