The City of Waverly, Iowa's Municipal Swimming Pool has proudly served the community for an impressive 56 summers. To plan for the future of Memorial Park, MSA and Counsilman-Hunsaker were enlisted to provide comprehensive planning services, specifically focusing on developing options for the future of the swimming pool.
The study encompassed a thorough examination of potential outdoor pool options, considering both the existing pool location and an alternative site within Memorial Park. The conceptual designs placed significant emphasis on creating programmable spaces for lessons, fitness activities, and various recreational components. These components included a zero-depth entry children's pool, dedicated lap lanes to support the summer swim team, a captivating spray pad, a 1-meter diving area, a current channel, and waterslides. To aid the city in effectively budgeting for the future replacement of the pool, detailed construction cost estimates were y prepared for three options of varying sizes.
