Counsilman-Hunsaker was commissioned by TMP and Dexter Public Schools to provide a swimming pool audit for the existing competition pool at Dexter High School (DHS) and the competition and instructional pools at Wylie Elementary School (WES). The DHS facility was originally designed in 2000 and had experienced issues with the performance of its vacuum sand filtration system after the media was replaced in 2017. The WES natatorium was originally designed in 1991 and the major issue WES at that facility was centered around indoor air quality (which was addressed with a subsequent renovation in 2011), and the extremely corrosive condition of the equipment within the pool mechanical space.
Counsilman-Hunsaker identified items that needed repair, replacement, and renovation and each were itemized with a cost estimate in the report. After reconciling with the renovation budget, Counsilman-Hunsaker provided engineering drawings, specifications, and construction administration for the replacement of UV systems, chemical storage, and diving boards.
