Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Daniel moved to Florida during the latter half of high school. After graduation, he went to Purdue University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Engineering Management.
Having swam competitively and teaching in the Learn to Swim program at Purdue, Counsilman-Hunsaker allows Daniel to combine his passion for the sport and engineering and help fulfil his desire to become a certified Professional Engineer.
