Miklos Valdez serves as the CHAMP Director at Counsilman-Hunsaker, where he leads the Aquatic Management Program services to improve facility safety and sustainability. With more than two decades of experience in recreation and aquatics, Miklos has managed a diverse range of facilities, including indoor and outdoor pools, waterparks, competition pools, and fitness centers. His expertise spans all aspects of aquatic operations, from pool chemical maintenance to swim meet management.

A graduate of Baylor University, Miklos is a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Instructor with the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). He has played a key role in shaping the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC), serving on the Technical Review Committee for the 2021 edition and the Technical Support Committee for the 2018 edition. He is also an active member of the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) Education Committee.

In addition to his work at Counsilman-Hunsaker, Miklos is the Director of Fundraising & Corporate Engagement for the International Lifeguard Critical Incident Response Alliance (ILCIRA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting aquatic emergency responders in managing and recovering from critical incidents.

Miklos is a published author and a sought-after speaker at state and national conferences. He frequently presents on topics including aquatic safety, management, design, and planning, sharing his insights to advance the aquatics industry.
